The State Meteorology Agency (Aemet) has activated the orange warning for storms in the Malaga region of Sol and Guadalhorce, which will be in force until 10 p.m. today, according to reports Emergencies 112, service attached to the Ministry of the Presidency, Public Administration and Interior of the Junta de Andalucía.
In addition, the Aemet keeps the yellow warning in effect until 9:00 p.m. for the same adverse meteorological phenomenon in the Antequera region.
Advice to the population
In the event of episodes of rains and storms, Emergencias 112 Andalucía recommends removing objects that may be carried by water or moved by the wind from outside the houses to avoid accidents.
If we have to drive, we must exercise extreme caution and respect, as always, the traffic regulations and indications on the information panels of the General Directorate of Traffic. Never cross flooded places by car. Faced with small pools of water, we must cross with a short speed and advance very slowly so that the water does not splash on the motorcycle, and then check the state of the brakes.
Avoid driving on a flooded road or crossing a bridge or underpass with water, as the force of the current could drag the vehicle. In addition, it is not advisable to travel at night, since it is at these times that the dangers and obstacles produced by the rain are more difficult to detect.
It is also advisable not to park vehicles or camp in dry riverbeds, or on the banks of rivers, to avoid being surprised by a sudden flood or flood.
And always, in case of any emergency, you can call 112, a free phone number available 24 hours a day all year round.
