The Minister of Agriculture, Fisheries, Livestock and Sustainable Development, Carmen Crespo, announced this Monday that residents of the municipalities of Jubrique, Faráján, Júzcar, Alpandeire and Pujerra, who had to be evicted preventively by the Sierra Bermeja fire. The citizens of Genalguacil, for their part, will still not be able to return to their homes due to the fire.
In relation to the residents of the five municipalities who can return, Crespo has stressed that it has to be a “prudent, staggered and progressive” relocation.
Regarding Genalguacil, who still will not be able to return, the counselor has said that they understand that “it is not a whim”, insisting that the technicians “are the ones in command.” “It is a necessity, we are not going to put anyone at risk.”
This has been pointed out by Crespo in the Advanced Command Post, together with the deputy director of the Regional Operational Center (COR) of Infoca, Alejandro García, specifying, in addition, that in the fire “unprecedented, complicated and difficult” it has been possible to continue working ” on all fronts ”.
