The Most Holy Risen Christ, Most Holy Mary of Victory and Saint John the Evangelist have paraded this Sunday through the streets of the center and the old town of Marbella, in a processional march of three thrones that has put the finishing touch to Holy Week and in which around half a thousand people from the different brotherhoods have participated from the city.
The acts of Resurrection Sunday has begun at 10:00 a.m. with the celebration of Mass of the Association of Fraternities and Brotherhoods in the Parroquia Nuestra Señora de la Encarnación, to give way to an hour later to the processional march in which representations of all the brotherhoods in each of the three sections have participated.
The day was characterized by radiant sunshine and spring weather compared to the beginning of Passion Week, where the rains that occurred both on Monday and Holy Tuesday caused the suspension of the processional steps. The influx of public has been outstanding, mainly in the Plaza de la Iglesia Nuestra Señora de la Encarnación, where residents and tourists have been able to contemplate the various thrones and the rocking, and even after the departure of the Virgin, many attendees have raffled the controls and they have accessed the interior of the square.
The first throne to come out was that of the Most Holy Risen Christ after 11:00 a.m., a carving of the Association of Brotherhoods and Brotherhoods that has been carried by 55 women of the brotherhood Nuestro Padre Jesús Cautivo, María Santísima de la Encarnación, Santa Marta, San Lázaro and María. Brothers and sisters from all the brotherhoods with banners of their Christs, accompanied by the Musical Association of Marbella.
Around 11:26 hours the image of Holy Mary of Victoryalso in the Plaza de la Iglesia Nuestra Señora de la Encarnación, a throne of the Association of Brotherhoods and Brotherhoods that has been carried by 80 people and in which brothers and sisters from all the brotherhoods have participated with standards of their Marian devotions.
Simultaneously, the Plaza de la Iglesia Nuestra Señora de la Encarnación has reached the throne of Saint John the Evangelist, belonging to the Cristo del Amor brotherhood, and which has been transferred since 10:45 am from the hermitage of Santiago, located in the Plaza de los Naranjos. The dedication has been covered by 56 people and a procession of 80, as well as the Valle de Abdalajís Music Band, according to the older brother of the Cristo del Amor brotherhood, Manuel Gómez.
One of the most special moments of Easter Sunday was precisely the meeting that took place in the Plaza of the Church of Our Lady of the Incarnation of the thrones of Holy Mary of Victory and Saint John the Evangelistwhere both have been rocked and a hail to the Virgin has been sung.
As a novelty, both dedications have starred in a second meeting in the Plaza de los Naranjosat the height of the Hermitage of Santiago after 1:40 p.m. for the return of Saint John the Evangelist to its chapel, while the carving of the Virgin has continued on its way to the Parish.
Another of the highlights of the processional passage has been the meeting of thrones of the Most Holy Risen Christ and Most Holy Mary of Victory facing confinement, after 2:10 p.m. in which several marches have been played to put the finishing touch to Holy Week 2022 with the Spanish anthem at 2:40 p.m. Around 2:11 p.m., the size of San Juan Evangelista was introduced in the Hermitage of Santiago.
