The Routes with History program carried out through the historic center of Casares concludes with a high level of participation. The routes carried out during the months of July and August have been developed with full capacity and the recognition of the attendees who have agreed that it is a very enriching experience as it involves a master class on local history while enjoying a tour of the most unique places in Casares.
In total there have been 245 participants in the different routes, 116 in July and 129 in August. 61.32% have been residents of Casares or Casares Costa; 22.63% of people have expressly come to visit from surrounding towns, such as Tesorillo, Estepona, Manilva, San Pedro, Benarrabá, Algeciras or Jimena; and the remaining 16.05% were people who were on vacation in the area, from disparate locations (Barcelona, Campanillas, Los Palacios, Seville, Ceuta, Jaén, Villadecans…)
The Councilor for Culture and Tourism, Rocío Ruiz, stressed that the result has been a very attractive experience, as many of the attendees have conveyed very satisfactory messages. Which is due in large part to the enormous knowledge that the guide, Javier Martos, has of the history of the town of Casares and the great affection put into this activity.
In addition, these routes have been an important instrument for tourism, which has had an impact on the economic fabric, since a large part of the attendees have taken the opportunity to have dinner or have a drink in the local establishments.
