A poster by Antonio José Verano from Cádiz will announce theto Fair and Festivals of San Pedro Alcántara 2022, to be held from October 17 to 23 at the new permanent enclosure of La Caridada farm recovered by the City Council in the framework of the Malaya case that belonged to the former Marbella Town Planning Advisor, Juna Antonio Roca, as reported on Tuesday by the deputy mayor of San Pedro, Javier García.

This was highlighted by the mayor in the presentation of the winning creation accompanied by the general director of Tourism and Festivals, Rubén Sánchez, where he emphasized that the poster “links the Andalusian festival and festive elements like the attractions with the figure of our Patron”.

In total, as explained, 37 posters from all over Spain were submitted to the contest, of which a popular jury made a first selection of ten creations. “For a month the citizens were able to record which was their favorite”, said the councilor, who has indicated that Nearly a thousand people participated in the election of the Summer workwho was unable to attend the presentation for work reasons, and who received a total of 307 votes of the 997 counted.

García has recalled that it is a fair “highly anticipated and desired” which as its main novelty will have the opening of the new permanent fairground located in the Finca de La Caridad, with an area of ​​81,000 square meters. “We are committed to the organization of the patron saint festivities”, detailed the mayor, who has alluded to the work carried out by the areas of Festivities, Operational Services and Works, as well as Civil Protection, Local Police and Firefighters.

At this point, it has advanced that the enclosure will have an area of ​​attractions, booths and bar areas and food, as well as space for collective transport. Also, you will have two adjoining plots of more than 25,000 square meters for parking. “This new facility has a very symbolic character because it is about the recovery of a heritage asset of the city that should never have been lost”, García remarked.

The councilor has explained that in order to fit out the land, which already housed the last Nueva Andalucía Fair, demolished industrial buildings “which prevented it from being an open space”, while “they have preserved buildings of Andalusian architecture”.

“It is going to be a pleasant surprise for all the neighbors, who have been wishing for years to have a permanent fairground”, affirmed the deputy mayor of San Pedro de San Pedro, who has elaborated that the objective “is for it to be a multipurpose space that hosts different events”.
