The Sanitation works of Mijas la Nueva are at 80% of their execution, which will end in a month and have a investment of 368,485 eurosas announced this Thursday by the Councilor for Infrastructures and Works, José Carlos Martín.
The mayor has indicated that “these works come to give a leap in quality of life for the residents of this rural area since they will allow to connect the pipelines to the municipal sanitation networkso they will stop using the wastewater treatment plant (EDAR) that has been causing so many problems for a long time”.
The project has been awarded for 368,485 euros to the company ERVEGA S.A. Thus, it should be noted that the work is based on the construction of a 315 mm diameter collector and a length of 1,300 meters. Likewise, for Mijas la Nueva to be permanently connected to municipal sanitation, it is necessary to execute a second project that runs from La Alquería to said network.
The second project, the referring to La Alqueríaalso has a collector with a diameter of 315 millimeters and a route of 3,320 meters and will be connected from the confluence with the Mijas la Nueva pipeline to the municipal sanitation network, Located in the vicinity of the highway and both rural areas being linked. The investment of both works would amount to around 3 million euros.
“This is an initiative that the Department of Works has promoted to discard the two WWTPs that cause so many problems and offer the residents of these rural areas a modern service,” concludes the first deputy mayor.
