The festival Creek mijas has confirmed this Thursday its first confirmed artists for its second edition, which will be held from August 31 to September 2 in the center of Cali, in which it will feature performances by The Strokes, Florence + The Machine and Arcade Fire, as announced by the mayor, Josele González.
Thus, the councilor has announced the groups that top the list of the first fourteen names confirmed for 2023, together with the Councilor for Fiestas, Tamara Vera, at a press conference offered at The Penthouse in Madrid with representatives of Last Tour, organizer of the festival.
“The Strokes, Florence + The Machine and Arcade Fire name the first confirmations of a second edition, where there will also be Foals, Amyl & The Sniffers or Amaia, and we will even have local representation such as the Ballena trio from Malaga”, explained González, who stressed that “this first batch of artists confirms that Cala Mijas is no longer a newborn”.
For her part, Vera has underlined “the quality and musical variety of the artists that we announce today, being again international names that will share the stage with national and even local artists, showing a wide range of options for lovers of good music”.
Thus, Cala Mijas returns with the New Yorkers The Strokes captaining the first names on the sign next to the electrifying band fronted by Florence Welch, Florence + The Machine. They are joined by the group indie more contemporary Canadian, Arcade Fire; the British Foals and their enthusiastic hedonism and the bubbly electro pop freshness of Metronomy. The frenetic rock of Amyl and The Sniffers will explode in Sonora Mijas, and the indisputable French producers The Blaze will bring a sea of sensations to those present with their recently released single Dreamer.
State talent will be chaired by the always energetic and danceable Delaportethe versatile talent of Amaia, the fusion of Pimp Flaco and Solo Astra Cupido with his recent album, the tontipop by Cariño and the electronic Galician Baiuca. As always, the local representation becomes relevant in the line-up with the innovation and musical tradition of Judeline and the power pop of the Ballena trio from Malaga.
