The twelfth stage of the Vuelta Ciclista a España will tour Marbella next Thursday, September 1, a sporting event that will project the image of the city at an international level during its passage as a “promotional campaign” as highlighted on Monday by the Councilor for Sports, Manuel Cardeña.

This has been announced by the mayor after the Local Government Board, where he has been accompanied by the municipal spokesman, Félix Romero, highlighting that the Consistory has requested both the organization and the DGT and the Civil Guard that the cart had”a different itinerary and the “possibility that the Autopista del Mediterráneo AP-7 would remain open” so as not to affect traffic, but it will eventually run through the town.

Cardeña has advanced that the The Vuelta peloton will arrive around 3:00 p.m. via the A-355estimating that it will pass through the main streets of the city around 4:45 p.m., which is why it has indicated that circulation will be restored around 5:20 p.m.

The mayor has recalled that the iItinerary includes the streets Duque de Lerma, Serenata, Huerta de los Cristales, Severo Ochoa, Ramón y Cajal, Ricardo Soriano, Monseñor Rodrigo Bocanegra square, Hohenlohe, Rey Fahd Boulevard, the access branch of the A7 by the BMW and tunnel of San Pedro Alcántara until the end of the municipal area in the direction of Estepona.

The councilor has indicated that traffic will be cut off on the A-355 and on Duque de Lerma avenuejust as he has indicated that from the first hour there will be “alternative routes on the Golden Mile and they are going to signpost and favor the elevated crossings that exist”, as well as on Arias Maldonado avenue to “try that there are no cuts”, although he has pointed out that the traffic will go “slower”.

On the other hand, Cardeña has pointed out that the Vuelta Ciclista “is a new sporting event with international projection which is added to a calendar that has included milestones in recent months such as the Copa Davis, the Grand Prix of Rhythmic Gymnastics, the World Padel Tour or the Iroman and it will continue with other top-level events, such as the Women’s Golf Open and various bodybuilding competitions”.

In this way, he referred to the city ​​promotion that will be done during the retransmission of the tour through the streets of the municipality “with top notch pictures” captured from “helicopters”, for which he has likened it to “a promotional campaign”.

The mayor has highlighted that “the municipality has collaborated with the Vuelta in many editionss being a flying start, finish or finish line because it is a race that attracts the attention of millions of spectators around the world and that gives you the opportunity to reinforce your promotion”.
