The City Council gives “congratulations to all the winners and participants” in the New Andalusian Cinema Festival. Awards from VIII Festival New Andalusian Cinema of Casares. As every year, the New Andalusian Cinema Festival has awarded the Camera Obscura award, which in this edition has gone to Juan Sebastián Bollaín, a self-taught filmmaker who has created his own language away from the commercial rules of the industry.
The Best Direction award It was for David Martín de los Santos, for “Life was that”
The jury award for the best film for Juana la Lorca, by Valeriano López Domínguez.
Ex aequo award for documentaries “Callejeras” by Silvia Moreno and “An island in the desert” by Rafael Robles.
The audience award Best film went to “El inconveniente” by Bernabé Rico
The jury of Short Express has awarded the First Prize to “Pipes and Dragons”, the Second Prize and the Audience Prize have been for “Paripé”, and the Third Prize of the Jury for a Casares team for their short “Red Thread”. Furthermore, this jury has awarded a Special Mention to “El Corto”, shot by Radio Municipal de Casares. The Gala was hosted by actor and comedian Miguel Ángel Martín, and featured the Blas Infante Cultural Center full of public and a good atmosphere.
