.- The Estepona City Council informs that the city will host this Sunday, September 26, the Andalusian final of the ham cutter contest ‘No home without food’, sponsored by ‘Sabor a Málaga’ and the Malaga Provincial Council, with the collaboration of the Estepona Town Hall.
The organizer of the event José María Téllez ‘Popi’, explained that this contest will bring together the best cutters in Andalusia. In total there will be eight participants representing each of the Andalusian provinces, which will be measured in this final that will take place from 12.00 to 16.00 outside the Felipe VI Auditorium.
Like last year and due to the health situation, the measures approved by the authorities will be followed, taking into account the alert level of the municipality. The capacity will be limited, so anyone who wants to attend must request their invitation by contacting the organization at 629198145.
José María Téllez ‘Popi’ has declared that, following the same line as in the previous edition, the contest will be of a solidarity nature. Thus, the objective is to collect food (non-perishable) and donate it to food banks. To do this, attendees must provide non-perishable food and in return they will be able to enjoy tasting the best hams in Spain for free.
For their part, the contestants will have to demonstrate their skill when cutting ham, while the jury will assess, among other aspects, the style of cutter, the plating or that the participants are able to cut 100-gram portions by eye.
