An earthquake of 2.9 on the Richter scale has been registered during the past midnight with epicenter off the coast of Marbella, according to the information provided by the National Geographic Institute (IGN). The earthquake has been registered at about 51 meters deep, and has been noticed both in Marbella and in nearby towns, without evidence of damage.
The tremor was registered at 23:52 hours of this Monday, with a magnitude of 2.9 and epicenter at sea, according to the National Geographic Institute. The epicenter has taken place in the sea, at southeast of Marbella, and some people called the service of Emergencies 112 to communicate that they had felt it.
On the other hand, also this Monday an earthquake of 2.1 degree on the Richter scale with its epicenter in the town of Peel, close to Marbella. In this case, the tremor was registered at 8:51 hours yesterday, at a depth of 43 meters, according to the National Geographic Institute
