Two INFOCA firefighters were found yesterday wounded during the tasks of extinguishing the Sierra Bermeja fire, which has already burned 9,000 hectares of mountains and keeps six municipalities of the Genal Valley evicted.
Both accidents took place in the afternoon, unrelated to each other, and consisted of falls due to extreme harsh conditions in which they worked before the advance of the fire. And it is that the fire doubled its perimeter yesterday, passing from 42 to 85 hectares. The two firefighters fell due to instability and rugged terrain in which they are forced to work.
One of them suffered a minor leg injury and was taken to a hospital for examination, but the other’s condition is more serious, having injured your back during the fall, according to some sources.
