The processing of husband of the mayor of Marbella, Ángeles Muñoz, whom the National Court accuses of the alleged crimes of belonging to a criminal organization and money laundering from drug trafficking -accusations that also fall on his stepson-, has unleashed a political storm in Marbella. The latest information also indicates that Villarejo had warned the Government of Mariano Rajoy in 2014 of the alleged plot of the councilor’s family.
As published this Tuesday by eldiario.es, Commissioner Villarejo informed the Rajoy Executive through number two of the Ministry of the Interior, warning of the risk that the PP would lose the Marbella City Council if the alleged commissions charged by the husband and stepson of the mayor. “They hit some sticks of the host”said Villarejo, according to said medium.
The mayor of Marbella has disassociated the case from municipal management, but the opposition parties in the City Council have demanded explanations and to know the summary of the judicial case that the National Court is developing about a network established on the Costa del Sol, in which her husband, Lars Gunnar Sune Broberg, is supposedly involved. and his stepson, Joakim Peter Broberg, who according to the indictment “holds the role of head or administrator of the organization.” It should be remembered that the procedure against the councilor’s husband has been stopped due to the physical and mental deterioration he suffers.
The spokesman for the municipal socialist group and secretary of organization for the PSOE of Malaga, Jose Bernalhas pointed out that “we are shaken and scandalized, as we have seen in the press, that the indictment confirms the existence of relations between the criminal organization and the administration, or that we have learned today that in the summary there are conversations of people with close ties with the City Council of Marbella, Benahavís and with the Muñoz family”.
For his part, the general coordinator of IU in Andalusia, Toni Valerohas asked the president of the Board, Juanma Moreno, that “he cannot continue looking the other way when -supposedly- corruption splashes his party”, stressing that “he has to give explanations, and give them as soon as possible about what is happening again in the Town Hall of this town”.
“Neither the City Council has anything to do with it, nor I as mayor”
Angeles Munoz has declared that “there is absolutely no involvement within the municipal sphere, there is absolutely no involvement of mine as mayor and my husband, who apparently is the only one in whom they have a special interest, is outside the procedure.” “I would have liked, and I’m sure he would too, the one who could have come and concluded and defended himself, but he is outside the procedure,” stressed the councilor, who stressed that “from here, therefore , the talk of this matter is over.”
“Not even my husband is in the procedure, not even the City Council has absolutely nothing to do with itnor of course me as mayor”, has underlined the councilor, who has warned that “if they continue to insist” she will go to court.
According to the indictment of the case, to which this newspaper has had access, the concluded instruction determines that it is “a criminal organization led by citizens of Swedish nationality settled in Spainwith members of German and Polish nationality, dedicated to drug trafficmainly hashish and marijuana”, and in which the Swedish businessman is declared as “prosecuted” along with 26 other people involved in the case.
